Stories have values, beliefs, socio-cultural norms embedded in them. They definitely influence but one needs to gauge that and this may not be a sudden change but a gradual one. One has to keep in mind that stories should not be used...

Stories have values, beliefs, socio-cultural norms embedded in them. They definitely influence but one needs to gauge that and this may not be a sudden change but a gradual one. One has to keep in mind that stories should not be used as the means to inculcate moral values rather they should encourage children to question and think what should be done and what not. Children may have many take aways from the story and similarly there are always multiple perspectives
