Some of my class V students have problem in grasping the online sessions. Biggest challenge is that they are new admission s. We even don't know the children personally. We are not sure about their capabilities and capacities. Though we try to deliver each sessions to its simplest way ,and we don't get the required feedback ,we tend to call upand talk to the parent. Generally parent are found to be illiterate. It's a transition period for the child ,we do understand. But feel helpless sitting at ht other end . I don't know whether child has learning disability or as an educator I have understanding disability. I feel sorry and helpless. Can you help?

One of the major concerns of most of the teachers is related to teaching primary and pre-primary classes through online medium. Children have the small attention span and It is difficult for teachers to keep them engaged in online classes. They require activitities which are heavily dependent on motor skills. Young students need to jump, run, and learn through play way methods. Lecture methods are not working with them. In such a scenario, we have to figure out support of parents. It is highly necessary that parents either facilitate or engage their children in gross motor activities. Support from parents is indispenable. It is advisable that in cases where you do not know much about children and there is no rapport formation, asking for feedback from parents is highly important. We appreciate your efforts. In order to identify if it is a learning difficulty you will have to follow this- 1. Referral (A class teacher can play a role in this) 2. Identification (Ideally to be done by a Special Educator) There are different apps now a days for eg DALI which is open used for identification. Click on the link and get more clarity on the same.
