When learning becomes about competing with your peers to get ahead, what gets learned is how to compete and not how to learn. To be the ‘top’ student or ‘gifted’ student, children learn how to compete with each other. Kids start coping homework and quizzes from others to get a higher grade and it can defeat tha basic purpose of education.

Today people are setting world records and motivating other people to work hard and be the best version of themselves. Had it not been because of competition the world would have been a stangant place to live in.

It's not about setting records. Who doesn't like to come 1st ? Also we all have competed with each other & come this far in Clc.if there were no competition then we would have taken everything for granted & it'd have been a piece of cake for most of us.

we as a society have become so obsessed about competition that we are more concerned about being record setters. One can be good at what he is doing only when one enjoys its. So more than being the best its being the happiest is of primary importance

I think competition is in itself a learning experience as I have already mentioned and again it's a human tendency that some will copy but one can't generalize that every student out there will copy.
