Justice Fathima Beevi was the first woman judge of the Supreme Court of India, appointed in 1989. The second woman judge was Justice Sujata V Manohar, who was elevated to the Supreme Court in 1994. The third woman judge, Justice Ruma Pal, came to the Supreme Court in the year 2000.
