The smallest mammal in the world is the bumblebee bat or Kitti's hog-nosed bat (Craseonycteris thonglongyai), with a body no bigger than a large bumble-bee. It has a head-body length of only 29-33 mm (1.14-1.29 in), a wingspan of approximately 130-145 mm (5.1-5.7 in), and a weight of 1.7-2 g (0.05-0.07 oz).
