Learning environments vary from classroom to classroom and context to context. There are four types of learning environments, each with unique elements. Learning environments can be student- or learner-centered; knowledge-centered; assessment-centered; and community-centered.
The phrase learning environment refers to the way a classroom environment is set up. Learning environments can be traditional or virtual (or a combination of both). There are three learning environment categories: face-to-face, online, and hybrid. Face-to-face, or traditional, learning occurs in person.
