How can we improve student engagement in online learning?

We can improve the student engagement in online learning by following the below processes;

1 - Prepare students for the online learning experience: Students need to be made prepared for online learning as that is not normal for them, so first we need to make them prepared for it.

2 – Frequently review learning outcomes: Regularly reviewing learning outcomes and gap identification could help in designing the online learning experience

3 – Prevent isolation by increasing the presence of instructors: Students should feel as if the instructor is right there with them. The course shouldn’t feel like it’s running on auto-pilot.

4 - Build a learning community: When an online course requires community participation, students have more opportunities to connect with instructors and fellow students.
