We all know that water is an important part of our life. Water is necessary for the existence of life on earth. Water is as much needed for survival as air in the atmosphere. All living beings either human, plants or animals are completely depends on water. Water is the second substance after Air to survive on the earth for all living beings. Apart from water used for drinking, it also has various uses such as washing, cooking, cleaning, etc.
Water is also important for the ecological balance of the earth i.e. Water from the Sea evaporates and joins the air as water vapor and turns into a cloud. When cloud transfers from sea to plain area, and cool down, it converted into the rain and fill the river and groundwater again. By this process, the water cycle goes on. The cycle of nature also completely depends on water. Until the water evaporates and mixes into the air there will be no rain on earth which causes damaged crops and the worst situation of drought all over the place.
Save water to save life on earth’, this rule has become the prime need for all of us now. We all know that water is as essential as air to live on earth but the worst part is that freshwater has been declining day by day. Due to the lack of water, many natural crises are happening in the world like drought, different diseases, environmental pollution, and global warming, still, a major part of the world population is not understanding the importance of water saving. In many areas of India water is so less in quantity even freshwater is about to nil. In those places, people have to either too much charge or go hundreds of miles far to get potable water for their daily use. Water is so important constituent for all living beings that if we still do not find the solution for conserving it, survival on earth would be in danger.
To face and solve any such issue social awareness is a must for all. A small step can add hundreds of gallons in water savings. Here are some points we need to focus on in our daily life:
1. A little precaution during routine activities like turning off the tap while brushing, washing hands, and shaving can save a huge quantity approx 160 gallons of water per month.
2. Use of the bucket instead of taking shower will also do the needful regarding saving water.
3. Watering plants in the morning and evening time instead of the afternoon is always the better solution.
4. Repair all leakage in the house to prevent unnecessary water loss.
5. Recycling of rainwater in other household activities.
6. Re-use the wastewater of RO filters for washing or gardening purposes. As the most intelligent species on earth it is our prime responsibility that we must save water so that all forms of life could flourish on earth and maintain a proper balance of the ecosystem.
