Passion and Profession- A Persistent Conflict

"Allow your passion to become your purpose, and it will one day become your profession.”

There is a thin line between passion and profession.  Should we call it passion and profession or passion versus profession ??? As we know literally these words are different in the English language but there is a thread of relationships among them.

“ Passion can be chosen but profession must not be overshadowed’’.

What is passion? We often hear the word Passion, but have never thought or tried to understand in-depth about it. We all have an inner liking to certain kind of art or act, that really drives us crazy and we love doing it. We never get tired or bored while being in such kind of act.

The next is what is a profession? An occupation, trade, or activity in which one has expertise in a particular area; a job, especially one requiring a high level of skill or training. The question of choosing a profession is very difficult. It is a question of bread and butter. So we should not choose a profession in hurry. We should take the advice of others. We should see whether we can do it well. we should have a taste for it moreover, we should be physically fit for it. These are the tests of choosing a profession.

Let’s have a discussion, on the symposium that happiness derived from money is often terminated in a short span of time but subject to condition if that money is not earned through your passionate jobs. Let's take another example the day you buy a Fossil watch is worth remembering, it indeed should be exhilarating because it is bought from your own money and the ecstatic emotional feeling can not be worth a written but it is only witnessed if that earned money is from the job you are passionate about not from the job you are forced to bear the pressure. Thus, money is important but up to a point. Another thing is that sacrificing your passion for earning money does not make any sense. Because the shiny objects cannot fill the hole in your heart but remember this is not an object you are sacrificing this is your passion for which you give 70 percent of your life i.e. if you have 50 years of age span it means you are contributing 35 years if your precious life behind your passion, so tell me is it worth to be passionate or professional? The answer is quite debating because personalities like Steve Jobs,  Mark Zuckerberg,  Warren Buffet are led by an example who does not sacrifice their passion but also get success in their life.

Another major cause for abandoning passion in favor of profession is job insecurity, Often at times, to follow our passions, we must step out of our comfort zones, and explore entirely new, and frightening possibilities. This not only frightens us but also make our decision so clouded that we are better to be in a state of undeceiving the facts.

This is a very interesting study that which one you have opted for? Both passion and profession are two entities of the same coin so we have to choose only one. It is thus apparent that Life is not an either-or, that you have to choose either. You can definitely have one inside the other. When Passion is your central focus, everything else falls in place, because you are flowing with nature and the way He created you.

The passion always confronts emotional aspects while the profession is always attached to job aspects. A profession can fill your pocket, can buy bread, can allow you to make a weekend disco night but a passion allows you to fill your heart with ecstasy, joyousness, it can also buy a bed with peaceful night with a sweet dream which won’t be seen in case of a professional person.
