An Aspiring Teacher: Story of Kusum from Haryana

Kusum is a class 11th student from Jhajjar district of Haryana. She prefers to go for a walk and do housework in her spare time. She likes to understand and learn concepts by practising them through writing.

Let’s get to know about her student life and her aspirations a little more.

What is your favorite subject and what do you like the most about that subject?

I like Mathematics because in this subject, we have to solve sums but in other subjects individuals can rote learn the concepts and give answers.

How were you introduced to Gurushala?

I found about Gurushala through YouTube and subsequently downloaded it. Then I spoke with one of the teachers from Gurushala. She told me about Gurushala and added me to one of the WhatsApp groups of Gurushala.

How has Gurushala helped you in your journey as a student?

Gurushala has helped me in my studies in many ways. I like the quiz section of Gurushala and attempt some of the quizzes there. On Teachers’ Day, I created a post thanking all of the teachers, as well as a video and post on Covid 19.

What is the one thing you like the most about your favorite teacher?

Manisha ma'am is my favourite teacher. She understands us and helps us grasp things in a simple manner. We can discuss our issues with her. I recall her constantly supporting us and providing us with sanitary pads whenever required. She is very considerate and caring as a teacher.

What do you wish to become when you grow up?

I want to be a teacher because I like teaching children. I even teach my cousins. I will try to be like Manisha ma'am and help my students in different ways.
