Do's and Don'ts of Online Classes

It's been 2 years now that we have been hit by COVID named danger. It was initiated in Wuhan, China. I still remember, watching the news that 2-3 people who came back to India from abroad were tested positive for COVID-19. The government tracked them down, isolated them to stop the spread of the disease. That was a time and now is the time!

Schools were immediately shut down. None of us knew when it will reopen. All of us were clueless and scared. There was uncertainty. Then we started interacting with students, sharing YouTube videos, and teaching students in small groups.

Teachers learned new platforms and technologies. We tried our best to engage students in education. Let me share some of the dos and don'ts of taking online classes. Hope this helps you!

  • Be Punctual, Positive, and Prepared
  • Be respectful and responsive to students' queries
  • Be Ready with the technology–Reliable Internet Connection. Check your connectivity 15-20 minutes prior
  • Mute your audio when you are not speaking
  • Sit at a peaceful place to avoid background disturbance. Make sure that you have informed about your class to your family so that they don't disturb in-between

  • Take names of students and scold them in front of everyone
  • Close the session without an endnote
  • Close the session without summarizing and giving an assignment
