Tell us about yourself.

I hail from a village Bohar, Rohtak in the state of Haryana. I have completed my Junior Basic Training in Arts and Craft .I am currently pursuing my career as a Teacher in a Government Girls Primary School. Along with teaching I am actively engaged on social justice issues such as Swacch  Bharat Abhiyan for appropriate waste management , Beti Bachao- Beti Padhao, and prevention of female foeticide. One way of keeping myself engaged with these activities is being aware of agencies and organisations which work with various communities around these issues.

What is your most preferred way of teaching?

I prefer to use a variety of resources while teaching since I believe that using multiple methods help students being more engaged in the classroom. Along with the Lecture Method, I actively use Audio-Visual Aids which includes images and videos, by reading out to my students. I also try to encourage peer learning through sharing group activities with students. In order to increase retention, I recommend regular practice of lessons to my students. Sometimes I also teach my students through games.

What motivated you to become a teacher?

The biggest motivation and inspiration for me to become a teacher was my father. My Father, himself was a teacher. His dedication towards his work and method of teaching motivated and encouraged me further to pursue a profession that he performed so skilfully. He has been a source of strength for me and his loyalty towards the profession helped me a lot in working towards becoming an idea teacher.

What is your best memory so far as a teacher?

I cherish every day of my teaching life. My best memory in my career is the love and respect I receive from my students as well as staff members. They all act as a medium of terrific support for me. Every moment spent with them is memorable for me. However, my most cherished memory would be when I got an interview call during the evaluation process of becoming a teacher. It was just a regular day when I was preparing Besan Chapatis. Getting the call for the interview is one of my fondest memories
