Tell us a little bit about yourself
I am Khushi Arvind Jamdar and I am a student of class 9th. I live in Akola district of Maharashtra and and I study in B.D.S High School, Chandur. At school, my favourite subject is English. Apart from school, in my free time I love to paint. My passion for painting has been recognized by 5 prizes that I have won in different competitions and I have also won two prizes in rock pottery making. I want to become a doctor when I am older.
What is your favorite subject and what do you like the most about that subject?
My favourite subject English. I love literature, especially poetry. I think learning English language is an important skill as it is widely used in all fields for education and jobs. This makes English to be an important and indispensable subject in a student’s life.
How were you introduced to Gurushala?
I was introduced to Gurushala, when I was a part of my class group and link for Gurushala Academy classes were shared. I attended some of the classes and I found it very useful as the teachers explained topics very nicely.
What is your favorite section of Gurushala and why?
Gurushala Academy is my favourite section where classes are conducted in the evenings during the week. I really enjoy the lectures on English because it is my favourite subject and it is taught by Devika Ma’am who teaches the subject really well. Devika ma’am makes understanding the coursework very easy.
What is the one thing you like the most about your favorite teachers?
Devika Pradeep Ma’am is my favourite teacher. I am more interested in the class because she is taking lectures on the subject. She explains all the chapters in a very simple way and gives exercise after learning it so I am able to understands better. She is not only a good teacher but treats us students like friends which makes her more likeable. She has always helped me in whatever doubts that have come across my mind.
Khushi's experience as a student reveals a lot about desirable student- teacher interaction. As she discusses that she likes her english teacher because she interacts with her more reveals the need for socio-emotional skills among teachers and how important it is to build interpersonal relationship with students.
