What according to you is a 21st Century Teacher?
Most students in my class come from lower socioeconomic, rural backgrounds and thus, need assistance from teachers with technology along with basic academics. A 21st Century teacher should be able to assist these students and be able to provide quality education. I have my helped students get more exposure with the help of projectors, etc.
How has Gurushala helped you in your journey as a teacher?
Since I am familiar with education technology, I have been able to expose students to the Content Library on Gurushala, which is extremely popular among students along with other aspects of the programme. Not only have I learnt more about activity-based learning through Gurushala webinars, she has also used many theoretical materials available on the website.
What is your most preferred way of teaching?
I teach using multiple resources in the class such as traditional method of textbook reading, practicing along with lessons, audio-visual resources etc. The students use Content Library to learn various concepts for Maths and Science subjects. These infographics are also printed and distributed among students to make them even more accessible.
What is one of the best memories as a teacher?
Seeing the students’ interest and participation in Gurushala National Aptitude Test was a pleasant surprise for me, as this aligns with my core principles when it comes to teaching - keeping the students interested and engaged. The students shared positive feedback about the G-NAT questions with me, which further helped me with their studies and gauging their level of interest.
What is your motto as a teacher?
My motto is to keep the students engaged. Student engagement and their interest in education is the only way for their holistic development and facilitating good quality education at them. I strive for keeping my students engaged by using multitude of activities and teaching strategies.
