Narrator of a Nukkad Natak: A Story from Uttar Pradesh

Mahrun Nisha is a class 10th student studying in the Firozabad district of Uttar Pradesh. She studies sincerely and wants to work hard to become a self-dependent girl. She loves to learn through videos, games, images, reading textbooks, listening to her teachers’ lectures and by writing and practising.

What is your best memory so far with your teachers or your friends?

I participated in a Nukkad Natak once during the Swachchta Abhiyan campaign in my school. The theme of the street play was ‘Waste Management’ wherein I was the narrator and my role was to spread awareness amongst the audience regarding the harmful effects of excessive use of plastic. I talked about how we should not throw waste substances anywhere and how harmful substances can pollute the earth.

I also participated in a separate Nukkad natak which was on the theme of ‘Voting’ during the Matdata Jagrukta Abhiyan. At that time also, I was playing the role of a narrator. Through that play, we wanted to highlight how as voters, we vote for people whom we know or who might be our friends and relatives. However, we should vote for people who are right in their thoughts and actions.

How were you introduced to Gurushala?

I was introduced to Gurushala through my teacher, Ms. Kalpana Rajauriya ma’am. My favourite section of Gurushala is its content library where we get to watch so many content videos on Science and other resources such as worksheets etc. I have participated in a lot of quizzes and tests organized by Gurushala.

How has Gurushala helped you in your journey as a student?

Gurushala has helped me in many ways. I was awarded with a scholarship of Rs. 20,000 because of which I was able to buy a mobile phone. It has become easier and more convenient for me to conduct classes now. I also bought a table and a chair to help me study and attend classes comfortably.

What do you wish to become when you grow up?

I wish to become a teacher when I grow up. I admire teachers who have a style of talking in a friendly manner with their students. This makes us feel comfortable and acknowledged.

Students have dreams of becoming so many things. It is our duty to help them achieve some of them. Such stories constantly remind us what a little help and some guidance can do a student’s life and confidence.
