Tamil Nadu government has launched a scheme – Illam Thedi Kalvi (Education at Doorstep) – to address the learning gap among students due to the closure of schools during the pandemic-imposed lockdown. As per the scheme, volunteers will take classes near the houses of students after school hours from 5 pm to 7 pm every day. The volunteer student ratio would be 1:20 and over one lakh volunteers are expected to join this scheme. All those people who have studied up to Class 12th can teach students of Classes 1st to 5th and degree-holders can teach middle school students.     What do you think about this scheme the government and how it is going to help the students?
